Dr. William Van Manen is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon from Houston, Texas who joined Advanced Orthopaedic Centers in 1992. A former football player at Tulane University, Dr. Van Manen treats many sports related injuries and has many years experience with ankle reconstruction and treatment of Achilles tendon injuries.  He excels in non-operative and surgical treatment of both routine and complex disorders of the foot and ankle including congenital, arthritic, and traumatic and sports related conditions.  He treats work related injuries and is called upon often for his expertise in by local personal injury attorneys. Education

Dr. Van Manen received his Doctorate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He completed a fellowship in the California bay area with one of the world’s leading authorities in the field of foot and ankle surgery.  He also served in the U. S. Army heading the Foot and Ankle Division at Madigan Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.  He is a native of Houston, Texas.

Career

Dr. Van Manen’s experience includes appointments as a staff orthopaedic surgeon with Bayne Jones Army Hospital in Fort Polk, LA; and Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. During his training, he worked at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, LA; Hughston Clinic and Sports Medicine Hospital of Columbus, GA; Charity Hospital of Louisiana, Pineville, LA; Veterans Administrations Hospital, New Orleans, LA; Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans; and several other medical centers.
